Get out the cake mix and giant tub o’ frosting because today is Mr. Husband’s birthday!!
Usually the only other creature who gets to share this blog space is Finn McSpool (and David and Tammie Beastie when Finn is feeling generous), but I just wanted to give a big shout out to Mr. Husband (the human version of David Beastie), not only to say Happy Birthday, but also a great big THANKS!!
See, if it weren’t for Mr. Husband realizing how miserable I was in my previous job (realized mostly by my perpetual groans of misery), and if it weren’t for him taking a huge leap of supportive faith in my creative career (crazy fool!), I would not have been able to spend my days making up stories and trying to convince people to buy those stories.
I know there’s plenty of successful authors and other creatives out there who still work the day job and I’m sure I would have gotten my words out somehow, but I’m still super duper appreciative that Mr Husband was willing to sacrifice a little more than a third of our household income to let me do what I love (okay, most days I love it..some days I want to throw the computer against the wall).
So Happy Birthday Mr Husband and many smooch-filled thanks for being crazy enough to love me enough to say, “Why don’t you just write full time?”
