The first of October has rolled around again, and while for many people that means it’s time to roll out the pumpkins, for Mr Husband and me it means it’s time to celebrate getting hitched!

That’s right, we celebrated our anniversary earlier this week with a little getaway to the Oregon Coast.
And of course, with a handful of Beasties in desperate need to get out of the house, we didn’t celebrate alone.
On our way to our anniversary night away, we made a stop off at a place I’ve been longing to visit (and one where Finn McSpool got up to some trouble), but we’ll get to that in a couple weeks. Instead, using the magic of blog time travel, we’ll just head straight to the coast.
I wouldn’t say we had amazing weather (nothing like the sunny skies and warm temperatures on our wedding day), but a day on the Oregon Coast without wind and without rain counts as good weather, so we checked in to the hotel and hurried down for a walk on the beach.
Not too shabby, right?
I kept trying to get shots of all the pelicans skimming the water looking for their dinner, but they refused to cooperate. However, these little plovers seemed ready to be the next stars of the Blogosphere.
And at any beach, you might want to watch out for seagulls.

Then it was back to the room where Tammie and David Beastie cracked open the bubbly wine to celebrate.
Unfortunately, David Beastie isn’t known for having a strong tolerance for the boozy beverages. After checking that all was okay, Tammie Beastie celebrated having the rest of the bubbly all to herself.
Meanwhile, to give the happy couple some alone time, Finn decided to check out the hotel pool. This meant donning his wet suit, but after getting zipped up, he was ready for a float.
And, reminiscing on his snorkeling days in Maui, he wanted an underwater photo. Okay, it was just me underwater, but close enough.
Any big celebrations for you this month? Any quick getaways for you?
Next week will be all about treats. Finn and I will be back next Saturday with a little early Halloween treat for you (and probably some tricks, since it is Finn we’re talking about). And I’ll be coming back Wednesday with a treat for all the fiction readers out there. See you then!!
Oh, and we aren’t done with Finn’s Ireland trip. There’s still a few days left to cover, but I’ll get to those in a few weeks.

Happy Anniversary and I was crying laughing over the photo of Finn floating in the pool inside a sandwich bag – exceptional (having trouble typing as I am still laughing) 🙂

Sandwich bag!? Sandwich bag!? I’ll have you know that is a hi-tech, custom-made, Beastie-specific bit of aquatic gear. :))
Thanks for the happy wishes!!

Oh! Oops! Please tell Finn I did not mean to imply that he would use anything but the finest aquatic gear 🙂

Happy anniversary, Tammie and Mr Husband! It looks like it all went swimmingly… Well, for Finn at least. 😁 Your coastline is absurdly beautiful too… Some of those photos of yours look like paintings! Good paintings!
Also, I think you now hold the record for most Beasties taken on an away trip. Congratulations, and I wish you a speedy recovery from the trauma that so much Beastie-wrangling has surely caused you! 😆

Thanks! This is one of the few looooonnnnggggg stretches of coastline in Oregon without a pesky headland getting in the way so it’s fairly photogenic. As for the monsters wrangling, once you liquor them up to the point they fall asleep or tire them out with swimming, it gets pretty quiet.

Top tips indeed! I must remember that for pre-market days… For myself as well as the Beasties. 😂

Ahhh Happy Anniversary – looks beautiful!!! Hahaha ohhhh Finn. I’m glad he managed to keep dry. Our anniversary is coming up this week, but alas, we won’t be able to get away. Can’t complain though, having just returned from romantic Venice! Looking forward to all that’s in store on your bloggo! 🙂

Yeah, I’m not going to feel bad for you having the ability to whisk off to romantic European destinations in only a few hours. Oh, and Finn didn’t stay completely dry…there was a little breach in his hi-tech aquatic gear that got his book wet. Thanks for the happy wishes and happy anniversary to you too!!!

Oh no!!!! I hope his book dried out okay… that must have been traumatic for him!

I think he was more traumatized by his hi-tech diving gear springing a leak. Of course, just after the warrantee period expired. Figures.
