It’s the Most Wonderful Time of Year (for Readers)

What?! Is it Christmas again already? Well, if you’ve wandered over to my Instagram lately, you’ll have seen my Christmas cactus thinks so.

For those of you who aren’t calendar-challenge bits of plant life, never fear, there’s still over nine months before we have to endure the holidays again.

In my opinion though, this week is far more magical than Christmastime because 1) it’s centered around books, and 2) it doesn’t involve a single note of muzak Christmas carols.

What is this super special time? Why it’s Smashwords’ Read An Ebook Week! Yay!!!!

I’d explain what Read an Ebook Week is, but I think the name of the holiday says it all. Basically, a week of discounts to lure people into trying out an ebook or two….or adding a few more tomes to your virtual shelves if you’re already an ebook convert.

In my effort to keep up the holiday spirit, I’ve discounted all my novels by seventy-five percent, or for those of you who aren’t good with fractions and percentages, I’ve priced all my fiction at $1 for the entire promotion. Not just The Trials of Hercules, not just my short story collection, but ALL my novels.

This one, this one, this one….

…and even this one!

Okay, I only have four books to choose from, but there are thousands of other titles that are discounted or free taking part in the Read An Ebook Week festivities.

Although the Smashwords’ retail page isn’t the greatest for narrowing down search results (which is why I’ve put direct links to my books below), you can browse the bargains by genre, by discount amount, and even by a book’s length.

So, if you’re looking for a new book, be sure to keep the holiday spirit alive and head over to Smashwords to join in this most wonderful time of the year. And remember, every time a book sells, an author gets his wings. Wait, that doesn’t sound quite right.

Holiday spirit!

How’s your week been? Any confused plants in your home or garden? Thanks for popping by everyone! I’ll be back next Wednesday to share with you the trials and tribulations of my next writing project!! See you then.

Oooooh you’re just so festive! I’m getting ready to travel tomorrow, and I’m realllllllly looking forward to getting stuck back into The Voyage… of Heroes. Of course, I’m also going to have to pack The Maze….of Minos in case I finish TVOH. Sooooooo there’s another 10 lbs added to the luggage weight limit due to my stubborn unwillingness to read an ebook. Did I just fail this Smashwords holiday?

Shoot, I forgot to send you a card for the holiday! Ebooks do steal the crown for portability. I mean, if I could get my books down to 1940s pulp fiction size, it would be a cinch to stick old Hercules in your purse or pocket. As it is, the only way to make our hunky hero portable is in an ebook (unless I start using 8-point font…eek!). Now I’m imagining a teeny tiny Argoa bobbing around in my backpack πŸ˜œπŸ˜‹πŸ˜œ
