I’m Back with Book Sale Bargains!

Hello Everyone!

Even though it’s only been a couple weeks, it feels like an eternity since I’ve been in the Blogosphere. My mini-retreat was super productive and we’ll get to that in a moment, but I wanted to celebrate my return with the I’m Back Book Sale Bargain Bonanza (or IBBSBB, which I believe is pronounced ibb-sibb).

Okay, Smashwords actually calls it the July Summer/Winter Sale, but that just doesn’t have the same ring as IBBSBB. Still, a bargain’s a bargain no matter how you title it.

The Deal: Half Off All My Books!!!

From 1 to 31 July, all my books will be half off!

No, that doesn’t mean you only get half the book. It does mean you can snag my books for only $1 to $2.

That’s right, a mere one to two hundred pennies, twenty to forty nickels, ten to twenty dimes, or four to eight quarters will allow you to add one of my books to whatever e-book app or e-reading device/program you happen to prefer. Phew, that was a lot of math for this early on a Saturday.

It’s pretty simple, but the key thing is that these deals are only available through Smashwords. Not Amazon, not Barnes & Noble, not iTunes, just Smashwords. I know their site looks a little low-tech, but they are totally legit. Also, when you buy an e-book through them, you can download your purchase in whatever format you need (PDF, Kindle, Epub, etc), which I think is super handy.

Here’s how to get your bargains….

  1. Go to my Smashwords Profile (or see direct book links below)
  2. Select one (or more, hint hint) of my books that grabs your interest
  3. Add the book(s) to your cart
  4. At checkout, enter code SSW50. This will knock the book price down by 50%.
  5. Complete your checkout
  6. Download your book
  7. Make cup of tea (iced or hot, depending on how the weather is behaving) and enjoy some reading time.

Handy Direct Links to Your Next Read…

There’s plenty of other authors taking part in the sale, so if you feel like browsing for something new, next week is a great time to do so.

And Now A little Literary update…

As you may remember, I gave myself a little mini-retreat to focus on some projects. One of those tasks was setting up for a new art show – and there’ll be more on that with oodles of pictures next Wednesday – but the main chore was to finish plowing through the edits and rewrites of the third draft of the third book in my fantasy series (Books One and Two are on sale for the next month, just in case you skipped over all those paragraphs above).

I’m a super happy to announce that the third draft is done! Yay!!!! For me the third draft is always the worst since it ends up being the draft in which I fill in all kinds of plot holes while also building up my characters, my settings, and the overall flow of the story.

Finn was a bit too eager to grab that red pen and “help.”

But wait, there’s more!

Not only have I finished all the rewriting needed for that pesky third draft, but I have also finished the read through of the draft (double YAY!!!), which means I am all set to jump into draft four. Thankfully, my hard work on draft three means draft four shouldn’t be too troublesome. After the edits on this round, I plan to set the manuscript aside, work on the cover and web pages and all those other goodies that go into making a book. I’ve set a tentative publication date for November, but it may be sooner if all goes well.

As always, I’ll keep you updated on all the literary goings on in my world. Now, go do some book shopping!!

How have you been? Accomplish any goals over the past couple weeks? Have any books you can’t wait to read this summer?

Woohoooooo! Go Tammie! Good to hear that your two weeks away worked their magic, even with Finn’s “help” 😀 And as someone who picked up a couple of your books in Smashwords’ last sale, I can verify that they are indeed legit! Really easy to buy from, and the downloads worked perfectly on my Android tablet! 😀

Thanks! I do wish Smashwords would invest a tad bit of money on dolling up their website, but they provide such a great distribution service for writers for (mostly) free, I guess I can’t complain too much.

I know what you mean, but maybe it’s the simplicity that makes it work so well. And if it ain’t broke… I don’t know about you, but my blood runs cold when I see the words “new and improved” on something! 😆

Ah, too true. Maybe it’s my “artist” eyes wanting some thing prettier, but as you say, the low tech-ness does make it easy to use and navigate. Plus, it does have a retro kind of feel to it, like a website from way back in the early days of the Web. 😋😋😋
